- 12 large button or cremini mushrooms
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Prepare the mushrooms: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and carefully remove the stems. Set the mushroom caps aside and chop the stems finely.
- Make the stuffing: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped mushroom stems. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until softened. Remove from heat.
