Chicken Parmesan is a classic Italian-American dish featuring breaded chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. Perfect for a comforting dinner, it’s crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor.
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish, optional)
- Cooked pasta, for serving (optional)
- Prepare the chicken: Preheat the oven to (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese in three separate bowls.
- Bread the chicken: Coat each chicken breast with flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally press it into the breadcrumb mixture until well-coated on both sides.
- Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Add sauce and cheese: Spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve the Chicken Parmesan with cooked pasta for a complete meal. Enjoy!
